Crunch Time

TICK...TICK...TICK... the count down begins! Only 2 days left until I happily swing my doors open to the public for my 2nd Annual Open Studio Show!
Yes, I'm in FULL freak out mode right now but luckily I work fantastic under pressure. (and believe me...the pressure is on!)
50 pieces are hung and ready to be photographed today. Preview appointments are being booked for today and tomorrow and work is already being put on reserve. Oh yeah... and I'm the crazy woman who's STILL painting! (how can I not??)
I'll be posting many of my new pieces for preview and reserve purchase later today and tomorrow, so keep checking back.
With that said, I'm rushing back to work now. Every moment counts!...
MUST.KEEP.PAINTING
Photos of show prep to come. For now, I will leave you with a link to my new video on YouTube as a sneak peak into my studio and process (fly on the studio wall style.....)

Featured in InDoor Magazine - China!

I've gone international!

This past month, I was featured in the Chinese Magazine InDoor.

It took a few weeks for the printed copies to arrive at my studio door here in Byfield  Massachusetts (quite a distance from Hong Kong) but WELL worth the wait.

What a stunningly beautiful publication!
I'm very honored and excited to finally be able to share it with all of you.

谢谢
('thank you' in Chinese :)

Studio Warming Celebration!

A tremendous Thank You to all those of you who made it out to my Studio Grand Opening this past Saturday!!

I had such an exciting and eventful opening night and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful crowd. I was thrilled to finally meet many of you and see so many familiar, friendly faces throughout the evening. Although I didn't get to spend as much time as I'd like with each visitor individually, everyone was fantastic and I had an incredible amount of fun. You all made the hard work and preparation for the day absolutely worth every second and my 'studio warming celebration' a success!

If you were able to make it out for the event, I truly hope you enjoyed yourself as much as I did. If you were not able to join me for my Open Studio, and interested in seeing my work please feel free to contact me to set up a a private studio visit. robin@robinlucianobeaty.com

I hope to see you ALL at my next show opening in Newburyport on May 28th!

Your continued support is ALWAYS appreciated! Cheers! ~Robin

here are just few photos from the day... If you'd like to see more images, artwork and studio shots

Thank you! Top Seller @ the NAA fine art auction!

"Soliloquy #15" -22" x 10" Encaustic on braced birch
SOLD at the NAA's 8th Annual Fine Art Auction

I'd like to say a sincere thank you to all those of you who made it out to the Newburyport Art Association's 8th Annual Fine Art Auction this past Saturday night. Not only did you support many local artists by simply buying a ticket at the door, but you helped me to contribute generously to the NAA by making my painting "Soliloquy #15" the highest selling member piece of the evening.
I was so happy to meet and talk with many of my bidders and patrons and I'm incredibly grateful for all of your wonderful compliments and continued support. I hope to see all of you very soon at future shows and events.

Again,
Thank you!!

A cause for celebration!...almost

Just 17 days of working and three short weeks after the building process began and my studio has become a very tangible "dream come true". I'm so ecstatic that I can barely believe it myself. Words can not express how incredibly elated I am at this very moment....but I'll try.
Sitting back now, seeing the exterior finally completed, makes me extremely emotional. I'm so proud of everything this beautiful little building represents: art, love, inspiration, diligence and the inevitability of more to come. I'm amazed at my own capabilities, never-mind the integrity, endurance and undeniable talent of Mr. George Abetti, my amazing builder, teacher and now, very close friend, who I could obviously not have done this without.
With an intense amount of passion, hard work, sweat, shivers and tears we have created a "legacy" as one of my neighbors so eloquently stated today. I'm so incredibly proud and looking forward to what the future will bring.
I''ll confess, I'm tired... and admittingly, I'm very grateful for the physical break at this point. But there is something so incredibly gratifying about having been such a large part of this process and I could never have imagined it any other way.
With that said, I'm looking forward to taking a small break and starting the finish work asap so I can start painting in this sucker!! Although the inside is currently FAR from a comfy and productive creative environment, we've completed the hardest and most challenging stage.
Now...onto the interior!

the cutest, coolest studio...waiting for its well deserved crown

can you get any cuter then that? Look what we've accomplished in a few short weeks!

Sometimes pictures speak a thousands words and today is one of those days so I'll try to keep it short and sweet. Another reason for my lack of articulation on the days progress is simply because my face and fingers are still defrosting from the sub zero temperatures we worked in today. I was FROZEN solid but nevertheless George and I got an amazing amount of work done in a small amount of time. ALL of the shiplap siding is completed. We're covered baby! All we need now is one of Georges signature cupola's to make this rockin little studio completely weather tight, not to mention ultra cool! (He assures me it will be a VERY special one)
Every day brings me closer to the big "studio move". I may never see my house again when this is all over!

Let the fun begin! Day 1 of building

Offloading the truck

George and Tyler ( the very helpful and friendly delivery man from Britton Lumber in Vermont)
Yes, that is ALL the lumber we'll be using!!

Finally! I'm SO excited to share the news that the building process began today! George Abetti, the builder and designer of my sweet little studio, arrived from Vermont last night. He slept in his winnebago, parked in the driveway, to wake up bright and early, right on site. (to get this party started!) Unfortunately, as usual, things didnt go exactly as planned.
The lumber delivery truck, which was scheduled to be here by 8 AM from Vermont, got a flat tire. George assured me not to worry and that they were only 2 hours behind and would arrive here by 10am. This was actually great news since I had a new series of paintings to be photographed. These 2 newly discovered hours and beautiful morning light was the perfect opportunity to do so.
By the time I got the last painting shot, the lumber arrived!
I was overcome with emotion at the sight of the blond bundles of gorgeous Hemlock. They were stacked there and waiting to become a dream come true; a post and beam studio. It was a feeling I'll never forget.

Hi

I started this blog to record one of the most monumental experiences of my life; the highly anticipated building of my very own STUDIO! Let me rephrase: my ultra cool, two story, post and beam, green as can be, beautifully designed dream studio! I'm taking this opportunity to chronicle this process to the best of my ability, while also sharing my art, inspirations, experiences and sometimes inappropriate opinions with an enigmatic internet audience. With that said, here's to the beginning of a new era in my artistic endeavors! I'll keep you posted...literally!
