"RobinLucianoBeaty.com" -Revamped!

My website has received an extreme makeover and I'm very excited to finally launch it today!

For my NEW (and might I add, very much improved) site, I opted to concentrate on showing only my current encaustic/mixed media work.
I made the tough decision to remove all of my artwork prior to 2007. No longer will you be able to view my watercolor or figurative work but please feel free to email me if you have any questions about something you may have seen in the past. I'm more then happy to open my archived portfolios by request!

New Studio Photos

I thought I'd share a few shots from a recent photo shoot I had in the studio.
Its hard to imagine that just a mere 15 months ago, I was raising the 300lb hemlock beams on this beautiful little building I worked so hard on... and now, work so happily in.
I feel incredibly proud to be able to create art within a space I created myself. There is truly no better feeling of accomplishment.
(and every bit of the building process is recorded right here on my blog, from start to finish. I hope you'll take a wander though)

I'll also be adding many more photos, along with new work, (and videos!) to my brand spankin' newly updated website which I'm excited to announce will be launched this week!

Until then, here's a quick glimpse into my studio...
(which, by the way, is now open by appointment!)

"Every time I paint, I throw myself into the water
in order to learn how to swim again."
Édouard Manet

"Art must seize upon you
wrap you up in itself and carry you away.
It is the means by which the artist conveys his passion.
It is the current which he puts forth
which sweeps you along..."

Pierre-Auguste Renoir

One Year Studio Anniversary Update!

Isnt she cute? Still can't believe I built her with my own bare hands!

Where do I begin with this ridiculously belated blog entry?

I'll start by asking the simple question...Is there anyone out there that was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the elusive criminal we here in New England called "Summer"? I'll be the first to admit, I didn't stand a chance. I tirelessly tried but the season seemed to scurry from me like a timid kitten at every attempt. Summer has been an enigma to me these past few months. Distractions ran rampant and the chase to capture those fleeting instances unfortunately fell short (for me, personally,...but I heard a rumor this was a pretty common feeling amongst most people this year)
Ultimately this struggle is to blame for my mysterious and inexcusable "disappearance" this past season
. The good news is, although I may have been M.I.A online, I certainly haven't been M.I.A in the studio which means I have a lot of blogworthy "making up to do".
With the arrival of fall, I have begun begrudgingly packing up the remnants of this sad, sad Summer and welcoming the new Autumn season with emphatic open arms, an open mind and even more importantly, an open studio!!!

I've received many inquiries about my studio these past few months. So in celebration of its official one year anniversary, I'm happy to share some of the new images of my space with many more to follow. In the next few weeks, I'll be adding lots of exciting news regarding new galleries, new work and my highly anticipated new studio "grand opening"! So...please check back soon!
beeswax, resin and medium...the sights only an encaustic artist would love ;-)

A cause for celebration!...almost

Just 17 days of working and three short weeks after the building process began and my studio has become a very tangible "dream come true". I'm so ecstatic that I can barely believe it myself. Words can not express how incredibly elated I am at this very moment....but I'll try.
Sitting back now, seeing the exterior finally completed, makes me extremely emotional. I'm so proud of everything this beautiful little building represents: art, love, inspiration, diligence and the inevitability of more to come. I'm amazed at my own capabilities, never-mind the integrity, endurance and undeniable talent of Mr. George Abetti, my amazing builder, teacher and now, very close friend, who I could obviously not have done this without.
With an intense amount of passion, hard work, sweat, shivers and tears we have created a "legacy" as one of my neighbors so eloquently stated today. I'm so incredibly proud and looking forward to what the future will bring.
I''ll confess, I'm tired... and admittingly, I'm very grateful for the physical break at this point. But there is something so incredibly gratifying about having been such a large part of this process and I could never have imagined it any other way.
With that said, I'm looking forward to taking a small break and starting the finish work asap so I can start painting in this sucker!! Although the inside is currently FAR from a comfy and productive creative environment, we've completed the hardest and most challenging stage.
Now...onto the interior!
