Review of Solo Show at Three Graces

"Confluence #1"- 36" x 36" - Encaustic, oil, nails, aluminum, fabric, bark and wire on braced birch.
"You can tell it took a lot of guts to go big with these unreliable, slightly unforgiving media. She pulls it off brilliantly, reaping huge payoff in pieces like "Confluence #1," -Ann Bryant, Portsmouth Herald

I was delighted to find out that my current show at Three Graces Gallery received a lovely review in The Portsmouth Herald today.

Here is a little of what writer Ann Bryant had to say:

"Robin Luciano Beaty's encaustics have a gravitational pull. Layers of warm wax, bark, glass, fabric, found objects, nails, wire, and thread are layered, gouged, and built over again to produce landscapes with a very special depth to them.

The sculptural qualities of these pieces are what makes them so great, and Beaty's open-minded approach to landscapes is what makes these pieces so refreshing and memorable. They're less like images and more like three dimensional memories, complete with the haze of emotion and romanticism..." -Ann Bryant

You can read the article in it's entirety here!

Thanks Ann!
